Geotech serves as the Communications Engineering Consultant for Kent Intermediate School District (Kent ISD) in Kent County, Michigan, providing a comprehensive solution for the development of a countywide fiber optic network. Our services include network planning and design, permitting coordination, and preparation of the Request for Proposal (RFP) documents for construction of a high-capacity fiber backbone connecting the Kent ISD Information Technology Center to each local school district’s IT center throughout the county.
The network delivers dedicated 10 Gigabit connectivity to each school district with a collapsed redundant architecture, ensuring reliable and resilient communications. During construction, Geotech provides construction inspection and project oversight services, acting as a liaison between the client and contractor, monitoring project progress, and verifying that installation activities conform to approved designs, industry standards, and applicable codes. Our involvement helps ensure quality construction and successful deployment of critical educational technology infrastructure.
